The history of exploration is filled with remarkable individuals whose journeys have significantly expanded human knowledge and understanding of the world. Here are a few legendary explorers and their contributions.

1. Bodhidharma (5-6 Century CE)

                        Bodhidharma 5-6 Century 

Bodhidharma, a South Indian dhyana master, possibly a Brahman, travelled to China in the late 5th century. He taught kung fu to Chinese Buddhists, a martial art that later became famous worldwide.

2.Xuanzang or Hauan-tsang (602-664)

Xuanzang or Hsuan- tsang (602-664)

Xuanzang, a Chinese Buddhist monk and the greatest Asian traveler, journeyed 17 years across the Himalayas to India. His "Great Tang Records on the Western Regions" detailed India's social structure, rulers, and architecture.


3. Marco Polo (1254-1324)

      Marco Polo (1254-1324)

In the 13th century, Marco Polo traveled the world, leading expeditions to Mongolia, China, and Southeast Asia. He also served in the court of Kublai Khan, the great Mongolian ruler.


4.Vasco Da Gama (1460-1524) 

          Vasco da Gama 

In 1498, Vasco da Gama became the first person to link Europe and Asia by sea, reaching Calicut (now Kozhikode) in Kerala. This was a pivotal event in imperial history.



5.Christopher Columbus (1451-1506)

        Christopher Columbus (1451-1506)

Columbus sought to emulate Vasco da Gama by finding a sea route to India. He planned to sail westward to reach the East, aiming to circumnavigate the globe.
